Unlike conventional hotels, we offer a blend of heritage and nature. Is Nimmu House pet-friendly?

Yes, we love animals! While we can’t accommodate pets inside our main heritage building to preserve its delicate structure, we are happy to welcome your furry friends in some of our glamping tents. Let us know in advance, and we’ll ensure your pet has a comfortable stay with you!

What is the best time to visit Nimmu House?

Ladakh is magical from April to October. Spring brings lush greenery, summer is perfect for outdoor adventures, and autumn paints the landscape in golden hues. If you love vibrant festivals, consider visiting in July or August!

April – May (Spring)

  • Climate: Spring sets in, with daytime temperatures gradually warming up to pleasant levels, ranging from 10°C to 20°C. Nights can still be chilly, especially in early spring.
  • Highlights: The landscape starts to bloom, and flowers begin to blossom. While it’s not yet peak season, it’s a great time for a peaceful retreat at Nimmu House with fewer tourists around.

June – August (Summer)

2. Accommodation & Amenities

What is the difference between Heritage Rooms and Deluxe Glamping Tents?

Our Heritage Rooms are within the century-old house, offering a warm, traditional feel with wooden interiors and vintage décor. Glamping Tents, on the other hand, offer a closer-to-nature experience, nestled under the shade of apple, apricot, and walnut trees. They provide the perfect blend of adventure and comfort, featuring cosy beds and private bathrooms for a restful stay in the heart of nature.

Do the accommodations have private bathrooms?

Yes, both the Heritage Rooms and Glamping Tents come with attached private bathrooms, thoughtfully designed with stone, wood, and earth to blend seamlessly with nature, featuring hot showers and eco-friendly toiletries.

Are the tents comfortable during colder days?

Yes! Our tents come with warm bedding, and if you need a little extra warmth, we’re happy to provide additional heating. Since we’re a seasonal property, we welcome guests from April to October each year, ensuring  your stay is as comfortable as it is adventurous.

Is Wi-Fi available?

Yes, we have Wi-Fi, but Ladakh’s remote nature means connectivity can be spotty at times. We encourage guests to embrace the digital detox experience and enjoy the moment. 

Is there room service?

We don’t offer traditional room service, but our friendly staff is always around to assist you.

Are toiletries provided?

Yes! We provide eco-friendly toiletries that are gentle on both you and the environment.

Can I get an extra bed in my room?

Yes, extra beds are available on request at an additional charge.

Do you have wheelchair-accessible rooms?

Unfortunately, due to the heritage architecture, we do not have wheelchair-accessible rooms, but we are happy to assist in any way possible.

Is Nimmu House suitable for elderly guests?

Yes! While the heritage structure has stairs and uneven surfaces, we do our best to accommodate elderly guests. Glamping Tents provide easier access compared to Heritage Rooms. 

Are there any steep paths or hiking involved in reaching the property?

No, the property is easily accessible by road without any steep climbs.

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that plans can change. Our flexible cancellation policy allows free cancellations up to 30 days before check-in. Check our Booking Page for more details.

Do you require a deposit for reservations?

Yes, we require a 50% deposit to confirm your booking, with the rest due 30 days before check-in.

Can I modify my booking after confirmation?

Absolutely! We’re happy to modify your booking free of charge, subject to availability. However, once a booking is modified, it cannot be canceled—only rescheduled. Just reach out to us at least 30 days before check-in, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your changes.

Do you offer seasonal discounts or long-stay packages?

At Nimmu House, we follow a Farm-to-Table philosophy, sourcing ingredients straight from our garden and nearby local farms. This ensure that every is prepared with Fresh and Seasonal Produce, reflecting the natural flavours of the region. By supporting traditional farming practices and reducing food miles, we offer a sustainable, nourishing and truly local dining experience.

We’re a 45-minute scenic drive from Leh in Sham Valley. You can hire a taxi, or we can arrange a pickup for you.

What should I pack for my stay?

Ladakh’s weather can be unpredictable, so it’s best to pack clothing in layers. Bring warm layers that you can easily add or remove throughout the day and night, as temperatures can fluctuate. Don’t forget sunscreen, sunglasses a hat to protect against the sun, and comfortable shoes for exploring the beautiful surroundings.

Yes! The nearest medical facility is just 10 minutes away in Basgo. Leh also has well-equipped army hospitals in case of emergencies. If you feel unwell, our team is here to assist.

What should I do in case of altitude sickness?

Ladakh’s high altitude (3,500 m+) can cause mild altitude sickness. Here’s how to stay safe:

  • Acclimatize by resting on the first day.
  • Stay hydrated by drinking lots of warm fluids.
  • Avoid alcohol & heavy exertion on arrival.
  • Oxygen cylinders are available for rent in Leh city for your long-distance travels. Your driver will help you with it.

If symptoms persist, we’ll assist with medical care.

Do you provide first aid or emergency support?

Yes! We have a first-aid kit on-site and can assist in case of minor injuries or altitude-related concerns.

Is travel insurance required for my stay?

It’s not mandatory, but we highly recommend it, especially for adventure travellers. Travel insurance covers medical emergencies, trip cancellations, and lost belongings.

Wi-Fi is available in common areas and rooms, but since Ladakh is remote, the connection may vary. For light work (emails, browsing), it’s reliable, but for heavy video calls, we recommend using mobile data (Jio/Airtel) as a backup.

Do you have quiet spaces for working?

Yes! We have quiet corners with beautiful mountain views, perfect for focused work.

Check-in is at 12:00 Noon , and check out is at 10:00 AM. If you require an early check-in or late check-out, please inform us in advance, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.
